A situation where I witnessed a child behaving badly happened last summer in a nearby park. I don’t personally know the child, but he was around 7 or 8 years old. I had gone there with my cousin to relax for a while.

At first, all the children were playing calmly, but suddenly this boy started acting extremely selfishly. He pushed a couple of younger kids away from the swings and claimed both swings for himself. When a little girl tried to sit on one of them, he shouted at her and refused to give her a turn. The girl looked upset, and her mother had to comfort her.

The surprising part was that his parents were sitting nearby but didn’t seem interested in correcting his behaviour. Instead of apologising, the boy threw a tantrum and started crying loudly when someone asked him to share.

I felt quite disappointed witnessing that scene. It clearly showed a lack of guidance and discipline. It also reminded me how important it is to teach children values like sharing, patience, and empathy at a young age. Honestly, I felt bad for the other kids who were just trying to enjoy their time.

Teenagers are strongly influenced by their friends because peer approval becomes very important at that age. Teachers also play a significant role, as teenagers often admire and learn from them. 2. Why do teenagers sometimes listen to their friends more than their parents?

It’s mainly because teenagers want acceptance. They feel that their friends understand their problems better, and they don’t want to feel left out. Also, teenagers start becoming more independent, so they often prefer advice from people their own age.

3. Should schools be responsible for teaching good behaviour?

Yes, I think schools should share this responsibility. Children spend a large part of their day at school, so teachers can reinforce positive habits like cooperation, respect, and discipline. While parents play the biggest role, schools can help create a supportive environment where good behaviour is encouraged.
