🗣 IELTS Speaking Part 1

1️⃣ Hometown

Q: Where is your hometown?
I’m from Amritsar, a vibrant city in Punjab, India. It’s well known for the Golden Temple and delicious Punjabi food. The city has a perfect blend of culture, tradition, and modernization.

Q: What do you like most about your hometown?
What I love the most is the warmth of the people. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming. Plus, the local food is just mouth-watering — you can’t resist the famous Amritsari Kulcha!

Q: Is your hometown a good place for young people?
Yes, absolutely. It has good educational institutions, shopping malls, and entertainment spots where youngsters can hang out. However, I think job opportunities could be better.

2️⃣ Memory

Q: Do you have a good memory?
I’d say yes, I do. I can recall small details like birthdays, places I’ve visited, and even random conversations from years ago.

Q: What’s your earliest memory?
My earliest memory is from kindergarten when I got a star sticker for drawing a rainbow. I was so proud that I showed it to everyone at home!

Q: Is it important to remember things?
Definitely. Memories shape who we are. They help us learn from the past and build stronger relationships in the present.

3️⃣ Collecting Things

Q: Do you like collecting things?
Yes, I do! I love collecting travel souvenirs like keychains and fridge magnets. Each one reminds me of a different place I’ve been to.

Q: What do people in your country like to collect?
In India, people often collect coins, stamps, or even traditional art pieces. Nowadays, some youngsters collect sneakers or gadgets.

Q: Why do people like collecting things?
I think collecting gives people a sense of satisfaction and nostalgia. It’s like preserving little pieces of life and memories.

🧍‍♂️ IELTS Speaking Part 2

Describe a person who wears unusual clothes

You should say:

  • Who this person is

  • How you know him/her

  • What kind of clothes he/she wears

  • And explain why you think his/her clothes are unusual

Sample Answer:

Well, I’d like to talk about one of my college friends, Rohan, who’s known for his very unique dressing style. I met him during my first year at university, and honestly, he stood out from day one because of his clothes.

Unlike most students who wear casual jeans and T-shirts, Rohan loves experimenting with his outfits. He often wears brightly colored shirts, funky jackets, and sometimes even traditional clothes mixed with modern ones — like a kurta with sneakers! It sounds odd, but somehow it suits his personality.

He also customizes his clothes by painting small designs on them or attaching badges. He says fashion is a way of expressing who he is, and I totally agree with that. Although some people find his style strange, I think it’s actually quite creative and confident of him to dress differently.

So, in my opinion, Rohan’s clothes are unusual but in a very cool and inspiring way.

👔 IELTS Speaking Part 3 — Related to Clothes and Fashion

Q: Why do people like to wear fashionable clothes?
I think fashion helps people express themselves and boost their confidence. Wearing trendy clothes often makes people feel good and stand out in a crowd.

Q: Do clothes reflect a person’s personality?
Yes, to a large extent. For instance, someone who likes bright colors might be outgoing, while someone who wears simple, neutral tones may prefer a more low-key lifestyle.

Q: Why do some people prefer traditional clothes?
Many people wear traditional outfits to stay connected with their culture and heritage. Traditional clothes also make people feel proud of their identity, especially during festivals or family gatherings.

Q: Is it good for people to follow fashion trends?
It depends. Following fashion can be fun, but blindly chasing every trend is unnecessary. It’s better to wear what makes you comfortable and confident rather than what’s popular.
