Dear [Friend’s Name],

I hope you’re doing great! I was absolutely delighted to hear that you’re planning to visit my hometown. I can’t wait to show you around and make sure you have a memorable trip.

To begin with, the ideal time to visit my hometown, Amritsar, is from October to February. During this period, the weather remains pleasant and refreshing, making it perfect for sightseeing and outdoor activities. Moreover, you’ll get the chance to witness some colourful festivals like Diwali and Lohri, which truly capture the vibrant spirit of Punjab.

When it comes to attractions, there are plenty of must-visit places. The Golden Temple is undoubtedly the crown jewel of Amritsar — it’s not only a spiritual haven but also an architectural masterpiece. You should also visit the Wagah Border to experience the energetic flag ceremony, which is both thrilling and patriotic. Besides, Jallianwala Bagh and the local street markets near Hall Bazaar are perfect spots to soak up the culture and savour authentic Punjabi cuisine.

As for what to bring, make sure to pack comfortable footwear, since you’ll be walking quite a lot. If you’re visiting during the winter, don’t forget to carry a few warm layers, as nights can get chilly. I’d also suggest bringing a good-quality camera because you’ll definitely want to capture every unforgettable moment.

I’m really looking forward to your visit. Please let me know your travel dates soon so I can plan an exciting itinerary for you.

Warm regards,
[Your Name]
