“My name is Yadwinder Singh.”
Q: Where do you live?
“I live in Chandigarh, a city famous for its greenery, organized layout, and peaceful lifestyle. It provides all the modern facilities without the chaos of metropolitan cities.”
Q: Do you work or study?
“I’m working at the moment. My job keeps me engaged, and at the same time, I try to upgrade my skills through online courses.”
Q: What do you want to do in the future?
“In the future, I would like to start my own business in the digital sector. It would give me more independence and allow me to be creative.”
Q: Which school did you go to?
“I studied at St. Mary’s Convent School, which is one of the best schools in my city. The teachers were excellent and the school provided a balance between academics and extracurricular activities.”
Q: Is it a good place to study?
“Yes, absolutely. The school had a positive learning environment, supportive teachers, and enough opportunities for sports, arts, and debates.”
Q: Is your hometown a good place for young people?
“Yes, I think so. It has good educational institutions, libraries, and recreational spaces. Plus, it’s much safer and calmer compared to bigger cities.”
Q: What languages have you learnt at school?
“At school, I learnt English, Hindi, and Punjabi. English was emphasized the most since it’s an international language.”
Q: Is it important for children to learn other languages? Why?
“Yes, definitely. Learning languages not only improves communication but also exposes children to new cultures and better career opportunities.”
Q: Would you like to learn a new language? Why / why not?
“Yes, I would love to learn Spanish. It’s widely spoken across the world and would be useful for travel, work, and cultural exchange.”

Sample Answer (Band 7+):
“Well, one photograph that I truly admire is a beautiful picture of the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab. It is framed in my living room, and every time I see it, it instantly captures my attention.
The photograph shows the temple glowing at night, with its golden structure shining brightly against the dark sky. The reflection in the holy water makes it look even more magical, almost like a painting. The picture was taken by a professional photographer, but for me, it feels deeply personal.
I clearly remember visiting the Golden Temple with my family a few years ago, and that trip was unforgettable. When I look at the photograph, it brings back those memories of peace, positivity, and togetherness. It is not just a religious place for me but also a symbol of harmony, faith, and cultural pride.
What I like the most about this photograph is that it combines both beauty and emotion. On one hand, it looks visually stunning with the golden lights and calm water. On the other hand, it gives me inner peace whenever I glance at it, especially after a long and stressful day.
So, all in all, this photograph is very close to my heart because it’s not just a picture on the wall—it represents my culture, my beliefs, and some of the happiest moments I have shared with my family.”

Q: Is it important for children to learn how to paint or draw?
“Yes, I think it’s important. Painting and drawing encourage creativity and imagination. They also give children a way to express their feelings without using words.”
Q: What kind of skills do children learn from painting?
“They develop fine motor skills, patience, and concentration. It also teaches them to notice details and think in a more creative way.”
Q: Some schools don’t teach painting, why is that?
“I think it’s mainly because schools focus heavily on academics like maths and science. Budget limitations could also be a reason since hiring art teachers and providing materials can be costly.”
Q: What kind of photographs do people hang on their walls? Why?
“Most people hang family portraits, travel photographs, or religious pictures. These images keep memories alive, reflect their values, or simply make their homes more attractive.”
Q: Some people like their walls empty. Why is that?
“It’s usually a matter of personal taste. Some people prefer minimalism and feel that empty walls make their homes look spacious and modern. Others just like simplicity.”
