Describe A Time When You Saw A Lot Of Plastic Waste
Honestly speaking, I’m a kind of person who loves spending time in nature, especially during weekends. But there was one experience that really opened my eyes and made me feel a bit sad about how irresponsible people can be.
It happened a few months ago when I went to a nearby lake with my cousins. We had planned a short picnic just to get some fresh air and relax. The lake is actually a well-known spot in our area and usually stays quite clean. But that day, when we reached there, I was shocked to see piles of plastic waste all around the lake. There were plastic bottles, bags, wrappers—literally everywhere. It felt like someone had just dumped everything there after a party or maybe some local gathering.
At first, I felt really bad. I had never seen that place in such a terrible condition before. My cousins and I started talking about it, and we felt that just ignoring it would not make sense. So we decided to take some action. We had a few big carry bags in our car, so we used them to collect as much plastic as we could. It took us about half an hour, and we managed to clean a decent part of the lake area.
After doing this, I actually felt a sense of responsibility. We always blame others or the government for pollution, but we forget that it starts with us. That incident really pushed me to be more aware of how I manage waste and to avoid using plastic whenever possible.
So all in all, this experience was not only eye-opening but also made me realise the importance of protecting nature. It wasn’t a big effort, but it definitely made me feel good from inside.
